Celebration of World Anti Leprosy Fortnight

On 14th February 2025, the concluding celebration of world anti leprosy fortnight , the sumanahalli society recognised the selfless service and dedication of sr. Maria Rosa FSI to the leprosy affected people in sumanahalli. The sumanahalli society appreciates sr. Maria Rosa is a woman whose life has been a testament to faith, love, and service. She is a beacon of hope to the leprosy affected persons very specially to those in sumanahalli. Being a missionary, she adopted india as her home and formed many indian Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate to be dedicated women to serve the leprosy affected people across the country and as missionaries across the world. She is a great role model to every one of us. To recognise her service to the leprosy affected persons, the Sumanahalli Society honored her with Sumanahalli Dr. Hansen's award 2025. Her words : "as long as health allows , i will keep walking, serving and giving life which has been given to us and we deserve it by it giving it away", is truly an inspiration to all of us.
