With the request of Caritas Goa, Self Help Groups (activities for empowerment of women) four groups were started by Sr. Villa Gracias in 2007. Sisters were regularly attending the meetings and the various activities done by these groups. Each groups consists of 15-19 members. the total members of four groups are 70. each group works independently and sometimes do have programs in common. Each groups consists of President, Treasurer, secretary and members.
Objectives:
• To empower the women and to stabilize themselves financially
• To provide awareness on income generating activates
• To build better relationships to work in unity
• Through self-help groups we empower women and make them aware of the importance and the value of being women.
